Learning Exchange (Pty) Ltd has over 20 years' experience in delivering driver and operator training. We are an accredited training provider with the Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA) and the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA). Learning Exchange is fully BBBEE-compliant, Level 2 BBBEE Contributor with Black Women Ownership and an Empowered Supplier. 

Learning Exchange operates from its head office in Ruimsig, Gauteng, and its project offices, nationally. 

The company is managed by a board of directors, consisting of a managing director and two full-time operations directors. Our staff consists of qualified skills development practitioners, accountants, administrative support staff and project managers.  

Together we manage and assist a team of more than 30 qualified, accredited trainers on various projects.  We also employ registered moderators to ensure that the highest quality standards are maintained throughout training processes.  

We use customised IT systems extensively, to support the seamless delivery of training.

Learning Exchange has successfully delivered accredited driver and plant operator training programmes for over 20 years. We have successfully implemented learnerships and skills programs for several blue chip clients.  

We facilitate comprehensive training through specially-designed courses which we customise for you, and which can be conducted on our clients' premises. We serve the Taxi Industry, Commuter Transport, Freight Transport, Mining, FMGC, Courier, Agricultural and Construction Industries, and work as a fully BBBEE-compliant training partner.

Sales Director, Daya Bramdraw

Daya is responsible for sales and marketing. He has many years' experience in enterprise and project management, including financial and contract management. He is also responsible for quality management and accreditation. He has been involved with training and development since the inception of the new legislation.


Operations Director, Elmien De Kock

Elmien has more than 20 years' experience in Managing Training, Finance and Development in the industry.


Director, Abel Nsibande

Abel has 15 years' experience in human resource management. He also has extensive experience in the transport and mining sectors.

Thembi has 10 years' experience of co-ordinating and logistical management of large-scale training interventions and learnerships.

Projects & Affiliations


All drivers in the organisation took part: current drivers had refresher training; newly-recruited drivers took part in a four-month advanced driver training programme; and unemployed learner drivers took part in a customised learnership programme. 

Mercedes Benz

Learning Exchange partnered with Mercedes Benz to offer 100 learners a learnership training programme. Many of the learners qualified for the National Certificate in Professional Driving. All successful learners have been placed in rewarding driving positions.



RTT: More than 800 drivers are being trained in advanced defensive driving skills. The programme will culminate in a national driving competition for the client. Training is conducted nationally in, amongst others: Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Mpumalanga. 

Unitrans: Successfully implemented and Certified Unemployed NC: Professional Driver Learnerships in Gauteng, Rustenburg, Cape Town and Durban. Currently implementing a further learnership in Gauteng, Rustenburg and Durban under the UIF Project.

Coca-Cola: South Africa Currently-employed drivers are trained in advanced and defensive driving in at least 12 different training sites in the Free State, Gauteng, Polokwane, Namibia and Mozambique. This project also includes fork-lifting. 

ROTRAN: A learnership programme for training in abnormal load vehicles. 

Scania: South Africa This instructor learnership programme involves the qualifying of Scania instructors in a National Certificate in Professional Driving, via recognition of prior learning intervention. 

Vukuza Earth Works: Training of more than 400 operators on different types of heavy plant, including bulldozers, graders, tractor-loader-backhoes (TLBs), articulated dump trucks, excavators and tipper trucks. 

Protech Khuthele: Previously unemployed learners are part of a community development programme and are pursuing a National Certificate in Construction Plant learnership. A further 400 tipper truck drivers have been earmarked for training.

Our Training


Training on the unit standard "Convey Dangerous Goods by Road" (SAQA no. 123259) is compulsory for all drivers of dangerous and hazardous goods. Training consists of two days of theoretical training and a practical driving assessment, and can be done in groups of 8 to 10 0 people. We provide refresher training (duration: one day) every second year. 



Learning Exchange offers earthmoving plant operator training on all construction machines, on electives and on fundamental unit standards. The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is the custodian of our registered earthmoving plant operator training programmes and operator certification. All operator training is based on unit standards. All operator training is based on unit standards. The Health and Safety Act and internal safety policies of employers prescribe training for operators of machines. 

We offer:

  • fully-accredited assessors and material;
  • training and assessment of current operators for certification purposes;
  • skills programmes (one or more unit standards, depending on your requirements);
  • a Learnership in the National Certificate: Construction Plant Operation — NQF Level 2 — SAQA Reg No. 49410;
  • on-site audits of operating staff and
  • training of new operators until they achieve full competency.
